Moving Tips for Home Sellers
Congratulations! You've sold your house. Before you
lock the door and drive away, read these helpful tips.
There are a few things you can do to assure a successful
transition to your new home.
Moving Tips for Sellers:
Assuring a trouble-free move
- Complete the online United States Postal Service
change of address located at moversguide.usps.com.
- Complete change of address notifications for
your bank, insurance companies, associations you
belong to, credit card issuers and other lenders.
- Notify colleagues, relatives, and friends.
- Make arrangements to disconnect and connect
utilities.
- Moving out of town? Cancel your newspaper
subscription.
- Find out what your homeowners insurance coverage
is for possessions in transit. Typically moving
companies only insure what they move and then it may
not be for replacement value.
- If moving appliances, clean them out and prepare
them for the move.
- Keep a "must have" box with you. Place
medications, toiletries, tools you may need, snacks,
bottled water and tissue in it.
What to Leave for the Buyers:
5 Things your buyer will need
- Owner's manuals and warranties.
- Home Owner's Association documentation.
- Garage door openers.
- House and mail box keys.
- Monitoring phone number and code for the burglar
alarm.
We work hard to exceed your expectations.
